RightStart™ Mathematics Level C builds strong number sense using the Cotter Abacus and visualization strategies. Students work with four-digit addition and subtraction and begin multiplication, with an emphasis on understanding rather than rote memorization.

RightStart™ Mathematics Objectives for Level C: Numeration — Skip counts by 2s, 5s, 10s, and 100s to 1000; compares numbers to 1000; reads and writes Roman numerals to 1000; understands place value to 9999. Addition and Subtraction — Masters the facts; adds and subtracts 2-digit numbers mentally and 4-digit numbers on paper. Multiplication — Understands multiplication through arrays and knows multiples to 5 × 5. Money — Knows coin values and makes change from a dollar. Time — Tells time to the minute. Measurement — Measures in inches, feet, centimeters, and meters; finds perimeter and area. Geometry — Identifies 2-D and 3-D shapes, angles, sides, and faces; explores symmetry and tessellations.
